The Superior-PHS XpressStar labeling system
The XpressStar is designed to deliver an effective automated solution for high-speed top and bottom labeling, scanning, and verification. It features an Xtreme XM-81 ultra-high-speed IJ friction feeder with a 3-ft. vacuum transport conveyor on a mobile enclosure; the feeder is said to offer robust design and high-speed performance at 1,000 ft/min. According to the company, using the XM-81 rather than a standard shuttle feeder enables users to have their standard product configurations include open-edge, tri-fold, and z-fold. A photo-eye, camera, or labeler can be mounted to the friction feeder while the vacuum transport conveyor provides a secure hold of the product during transit. The system accommodates continuous or batch-count feeding; standard product sizes range from 3x3 in. to 12x12. Use it offline with existing shingling, stacking, and collection conveyors, or in-line with a batch dropper into any finishing system such as wrappers, banders and strappers.
