Converter launches Smartphone App

Glenroy, Inc., a Wisconsoin converter and printer of flexible packaging film, launches what it says is the first-ever flexible packaging smartphone application. It provides tools for conversions and calculations commonly used in the flexible packaging industry.

 

 "The development of this tool is just one more example of how we go the extra mile to continually improve the overall customer experience," said Rich Buss, president of Glenroy.


The application, available as a free download in the Android market, llows users to quickly calculate commonly used flexible packaging specifications such as roll weight, roll footage, roll diameter, basis weight and yield. Also available are several flexible packaging conversion tools including MSI (thousand square inches) to Linear Feet, MI (thousand impressions) to linear feet, MI to MSI, pounds to linear feet, meters to linear feet, and linear feet to impressions. Users can quickly switch between imperial and metric units, and a "share" feature allows users to email calculations and conversions directly from their Android devices.

This app is currently designed for Android smartphones, and will soon be available for iPad. To download and install Glenroy's flexible packaging app for Android devices, search "Glenroy" in the Android market.
