Directed toward maximizing product quality, the co. introduces Equatorque, a servo-driven rotary capper that the co. says improves the precision of the operation. Using Elau brushless servo motors at each capping head, the machine is said to accurately control torque from 0 to 35 lb/in. (4 nm) while handling containers from 30-mL to 5-L capacities with up to 24 capping heads. The co. says on-the-fly torque adjustments may be made without slowing the machine, either by a local operator interface or an optional Ethernet connection, with tool-free changeovers.
