Boots has introduced a new range of Soltan suncare products designed to reflect the brand essence with outstanding shelf appeal. Boots is a member of Alliance Boots, an international pharmacy-led health and beauty group. Boots worked with M&H Plastics and design specialists JKR on the development of its new range of Soltan suncare products. Boots commissioned M&H Plastics to create a tailored range of bottles with the overall directive to produce a contemporary, but functional design, with high shelf appeal. M&H created four HDPE custom-molded bottles comprising 75- and 200-mL spray packs plus 200- and 400-mL tottles (upside-down bottles).

The project was technically demanding as the unusual shoulder profile of the bottles, which has a gently curved shape, required meticulous development to ensure precise cap and bottle alignment. The range is brightly colored in line with the suncare sector, and careful color matching was essential to achieve the distinctive pearlescent opacity.

According to Liz Binder of Boots, "We wanted to create a range of products, which were truly unique to Soltan. M&H worked closely with us to create an exclusive range of custom-designed bottles, which totally reflect the Soltan identity."

M&H has a full custom-molding service for exclusive designs and virtually everything is conducted in house from concept design through toolmaking, production, artwork and decoration.
