Bosch offers $340,000 to fund Superstorm Sandy relief effort
Robert Bosch LLC, the parent company of Bosch Packaging Technology and other manufacturing-focused businesses, has committed $340,000 in funding and in-kind donations to help the victims of this natural disaster. "The devastation made us all realize just how fortunate we are that everyone on our team was reported safe," said Mike Mansuetti , president, Robert Bosch LLC. "Guided by our slogan 'Invented for Life,' we are compelled to use our resources to let those impacted by the disaster know that we care." The support measures include short-term relief to Habitat for Humanity, funds to the United Way, donation of $40,000 worth of Bosch products and time off for employees that volunteer time to help in recovery efforts.


Ball Corp. acquires aluminum facility in Mexico
Ball Corp. has completed its acquisition of Envases del Plata S.A. de C.V ., a producer of aluminum aerosol packaging with a manufacturing plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The plant produces extruded aluminum aerosol cans for personal care and household products to customers in North, Central and South America. It employs approximately 150 people. The plant is now part of Ball's metal food and household products packaging division, Americas, and complements Ball's global extruded aluminum aerosol and slug business in Europe, and its aluminum slug business in North America that Ball acquired in 2010.

 

Website offers help with packaging "waste" line
Reuseit.com is a website designed to help consumers and businesses reduce packaging waste by turning to reusable alternatives. For example, the Clean Air Council reports that Americans use approximately 1 billion shopping bags, creating 300,000 tons of landfill waste each year; reusable shopping totes could help reduce that waste. 


CAPS opens service center in Arkansas
CAPS has opened a shipping container service center in Lowell, AR. Representatives reports increased demand in the central region of the country moved the company's decision to launch its most recent facility as part of an ongoing national service center network expansion strategy. This facility will focus on liquid container rental clients, providing them with increased flexibility and quicker response times.
